Tunturikeimiö is a welcoming holiday resort and activity center in Muonio, Lapland, managed by the YWCA of Finland and open to anyone. Skiing tracks and trekking paths leading to the fells start right in our yard. In addition to the accommodation and dinner facilities, there is a Sami style tent and a sauna by lake Naistenlampi where you can take a refreshing dip throughout the year. The big skiing centers Levi, Ylläs, Olos and Pallas are less than an hour’s drive away. Welcome to Tunturikeimiö!
The main building, Maja, has 9 triple rooms. Each room has one single bed and one bunk bed, a wardrobe, a table & chair and free WLAN.
The guest kitchen is equipped with a stove, a microwave, a coffee maker, an electric kettle, a fridge/ freezer and tableware.The bathrooms and toilets are located in the hallway. A drying room with a washing machine is located next to the guest kitchen.
Kieppi, built in 2007, has 6 twin rooms with a toilet. Each room has two single beds, a wardrobe, table and stools and free WLAN. Next to the livingroom, there’s a little guest kitchen equipped with a stove, a coffee maker, an electric kettle, a microwave, a fridge/ freezer and tableware. Two seperate sauna departments are located in the first floor, as well as a spacious fireplace room, which can be used as a conference room or as a space for small gatherings.
Takatasku cottage has room for 5-6 persons. The cottage is equipped with two bunk beds and an alcove with a pull-out couch, a dining table & chairs, and a fireplace plus an indoor composting toilet. The little kitchenette is equipped with a stove, a fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker, an electric kettle, tableware and sewer. You can get drinking water from the main bulding and water for washing up from the lake Naistenlampi.
Near the gottage there’s a small sauna by the lake, which is heated with wood. The nearest shower can be found at the lakeside sauna, about 200 metres from Takatasku.
